“Shani is a simple person. Her core morals (in my opinion) only consist of one value: joy. She doesn’t have another agenda, other than to be joyful and spread joy.

Joy is evidenced in all that she does, including yoga.  In 2016, she reduced from teaching two classes on Monday and Wednesday, to only one class on Monday and Wednesday.  After speaking with a few of the students, it was apparent that most of us had begged our bosses to let us leave work early on Mondays and Wednesdays, so we could continue learning from someone so wise, skilled and peaceful.

She is gentle, calm and intuitive.  Many times when she assists me in practice I think in my head: how did she know that is what I needed?  I do not mean assistance with the asanas, I mean with my mind, soul and spirituality.

As far as the physiological side of practice goes: she’s pushed me further than I ever thought I would go and it makes me want to keep going.  She quietly and gently sets a bar, and will help you rise to it (if that it what you want).

Shani is selfless. Shani is spiritual. Shani is the quintessential yoga teacher and friend.  If you would like a grounding, healing and spiritual experience and a new friend, I recommend you contact her for a class.”

“I have been practicing Shani’s yoga classes for more than two years now. One of the big things that stands out for me when I practice her classes is the fluency I get in my body with out the struggle that I feel in other classes. I believe her secret is practice practice practice, she is always improving her self as a student and a teacher not only in yoga but also in life.

I love her visual cues and upbeat positive attitude as at teacher and would highly recommend her to any studio owner or person looking to start yoga or take there practice to the next level.”

“Shani has always been a nurturing teacher ever since I stepped into her first class where I instantly felt safe by her soothing energy. She has since taken me from pregnancy to post natal. Her positive laid back attitude is reflected in her classes and have always been a place where smiling and connecting to your inner child is encouraged whilst challenging the body and mind.”

“I have been practicing yoga on and off for over 30 years and recommend Shani’s class to beginners and dedicated yogis alike. I found Shani’s classes a combination of the physical, emotional and spiritual and loaded with positive energy yet a sense of calm and well-being prevail. With each class you become stronger and feel the difference in body and mind. I highly recommend these classes especially for those just exploring Yoga practice – Shani will have you hooked in no time.

I will miss Shani’s classes as they are far more than a yoga class – they are so enlightening, pleasant and joyous!!!”

“I have been practising yoga on and off for over 10 years. Once I took part in one of Shani’s calsses at the gym 2 years ago, I was hooked. Her presence managed to transform a sterile gym room into a safe, warm and supportive environment. I was soon religiously attending her classes and looking forward to each class as my favourite part of the week. Shani brings such a lovely energy with her whereever she goes. She is warm and inclusive and gently encourages you to move beyond your perceived limits. Shani encourages you to look at your practice and your life simplistically – a smile is so much more powerful than we can imagine. She incorporates a playfullness in her practice that encourages us to drop the walls and experience a new freedom of mind.

I love that Shani is always furthering her yoga experience by doing retreats & she delights in sharing any new learnings with us in our practice.

Shani is very endearing and very quickly you find a big place in your heart for her. I feel priveleged to think of her as a friend. I try not to think about what life will be like when Shani relocates but I feel distance won’t keep us from connecting – she’s an amazing spirit! I’ll miss the hugs and her motivation, but I feel luckly to have had Shani’s influence in my life and my yoga practice over the past 2 years.”

“I love Shani’s yoga classes and have tried not to miss one for the last year – except for my trip to do the NYC marathon. We will miss her and try hard to find a different class, but will happily travel to wherever she is to do one of her classes again!

Her classes are:

  • Always fun
  • Challenging in a relaxed way – I am always encouraged to smile at my toes which I happily now include in my daily life!
  • Relaxing – even her voice is relaxing
  • Positive and apt – her stories talk me into the moment and on a journey at the same time
  • Best yoga I’ve ever done.
  • Couldn’t have run the New York marathon with out it – I hate/love pigeons from now on and maybe that even extends to the birds!!!!
  • Good music – both the sanscrit and the future sound of yoga
  • Always tries to improve, which is hard when it’s already so good.
  • Knowledgeable and confident – which, especially the latter I have so relied on after my brain tumour surgery and resultant neck problems. She encourages me to feel more out of myself but more than anything she shares with me the joy I feel at ‘how lucky I am to be here’

I will miss you physically (weekly) but will never lose touch with such a beautiful accepting person. I hope you are always part of my life.
